Technical scope

Thin-film architectural and structural steel fireproofing with verifiable DFT.

Intumescent coatings provide thin-film, profile-following fire protection for exposed structural steel where architectural aesthetics, clean lines, and minimal dead weight are critical design priorities.

Under high temperatures, the coating expands up to 50 times its original dry film thickness, generating a robust insulating carbonaceous char that insulates load-bearing steel against critical failure temperatures (typically 550°C for beams and 500°C for columns).

Vortexen coordinates solvent-borne and water-borne systems for 30 to 120-minute cellulosic fire exposure. Each member is calculated from exact section factor geometry (Hp/A or A/V), substrate primer compatibility, and environmental application conditions (temperature ≥ 3°C above dew point, relative humidity ≤ 85%) with calibrated magnetic/electromagnetic dry film thickness (DFT) verification.
