Cementitious fireproofing and spray-applied fire-resistive materials (SFRM) deliver cost-effective, high-durability thermal barriers for structural steel frames, concealed building infrastructure, and industrial support structures.

Formulated with Portland cement or gypsum binders combined with lightweight aggregates such as vermiculite or perlite, cementitious coatings provide reliable cellulosic fire ratings from 1 to 4 hours without requiring tight atmospheric humidity controls during application.

Vortexen coordinates substrate preparation, rust-inhibitive primer verification, mechanical lath and carbon-steel mesh reinforcement for exposed flanges, controlled water-to-powder mixing ratios, and mandatory post-application testing including in-situ dry density (ASTM E605) and field cohesion/adhesion bond strength (ASTM E736).
