Firestopping seals annular voids around mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and communication services penetrating fire-rated walls and floor slabs, preventing the passage of flames, toxic smoke, and hot gases.

A firestop is not a generic tube of sealant; it is a tested through-penetration system (UL 1479 / ASTM E814 / EN 1366-3) comprising specific barrier types, opening sizes, penetrant materials, annular spaces, backing mineral wool, and intumescent, ablative, or elastomeric sealants.

Vortexen surveys penetration openings, prepares system-matched submittals, installs verified assemblies, fits metal identification tags with unique opening IDs, and compiles detailed QA/QC inspection dossiers to eliminate submittal and handover rejections.
