An engineering judgement is not a site sketch
It is a technical assessment for a condition not directly covered by an available tested system, issued by a party authorized and competent to do so under the applicable project route.
Collect the field condition first
Barrier, penetrants, supports, opening size, insulation, movement, orientation, required rating and clear photographs are needed before a defensible assessment can be prepared.
Control issue and acceptance
The judgement should reference the closest evidence, state limitations, carry clear identification and revision, and be accepted by the parties authorized for the project before installation or close-out.
Codes, approvals, credentials, system evidence and authority requirements change. Confirm the current legal entity, scope, project specification and acceptance route before procurement or installation.
